The name may sound peculiar, but if you are looking to spend your Halloween weekend fine dining and shopping for great deals in Seoul, Ginkgo Virus Alley Week might just be right for you.
Ginkgo Virus Alley (GiVA) Week is a promotional street festival taking place this October 31 to November 2 at the famous Garosugil Road in Sinsa-dong, Seoul.
Following the success of last year’s event, the second GiVA Week aims to invite locals and tourists to rediscover the charms of Garosugil’s unique shops and eateries, which will each be offering special discounts, promotions and free gifts to clients as well as visitors for the duration of the festival.
As no festival would complete without animation, this year’s Ginkgo Virus Alley Week will also count with dozens of performances ranging from concerts to dance exhibitions, magic shows and mimes, spread throughout Garosugil’s ginkgo tree-lined streets.
GiVA Week 2014 is set to start with an opening parade on the afternoon of Halloween and will be incorporating dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars and fashion and beauty shops, all located in Garosugil. To find out the full lineup of participating establishments, special offers and performing artists, visit GiVA Week’s official Facebook page (in Korean).
